Path to free wireless Web cleared; FCC to auction unused airwaves

Large wireless carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless are opposing a proposal by the Federal Communications Commission to use unused airwaves to provide free Web access. The telecom giants have their own broadband services on adjacent spectrums and are understandably anxious of the impact on their business. T-Mobile particularly, is worried the free web service would disrupt its own 3-G wireless network.

He may have weathered every political storm that came his way and overcome obstacles that jumped in his path. But lately, he appears to be flailing. His campaign seems to lack the edge required to make an impact on the voter’s psyche.
