Steven Spielberg has teamed up once again with Universal Studios - his first production house which helped create his hugely successful films like ‘Jaws’ and ‘E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial’. He and partner Stacey Snider - CEO of DreamWorks have parted ways with Paramount Studios to sign a 7-year theatrical distribution deal with Universal.

Large wireless carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless are opposing a proposal by the Federal Communications Commission to use unused airwaves to provide free Web access. The telecom giants have their own broadband services on adjacent spectrums and are understandably anxious of the impact on their business. T-Mobile particularly, is worried the free web service would disrupt its own 3-G wireless network.

Senator John McCain may have outclassed any competition from within the GOP to emerge as top contender for the top job in the US. He may have weathered every political storm that came his way and overcome obstacles that jumped in his path. But lately, he appears to be flailing. His campaign seems to lack the edge required to make an impact on the voter’s psyche. The understandably anxious Republican leaders have urged McCain to maintain focus – to have a single message, in his campaign.

NASHVILLE, Tenn: The second presidential debate turned out to be a damp squib for most viewers and the group of undecided voters attending the event in town hall. GOP nominee senator John McCain had hoped the debate would be the clincher required for a turnaround in public opinion. However, the latest face-off between him and Senator Barrack Obama lacked any of the fireworks that people expected. Instead of McCain demonstrating one-upmanship, (he’s a past master at such debates), the evening was clearly in favor of Obama.

The emotional and physical health of Americans is mirroring the current state of the US economy, a study has found. Stress levels have spiked since April, making 2008 the worst year in the life of the average citizen. Healthcare data indicate that more people have reported stress-related emotional and physical symptoms compared to 2007. A survey conducted by the American Psychological Association (APA) has shown that stress levels rose considerably this year reflecting the general sentiment about the US’s fiscal health.

Teenagers who love driving at break-neck speeds, may soon face a frustrating time at the wheel. Anxious parents would lend them the ‘R-rated’ version of the car key that would limit top speed to 80mph and chime every time the teen unbuckles his seatbelt or turns up the volume of the audio system. Named ‘Mykey’ the gadget has been developed by auto maker Ford Motor Co. in response to a survey on parents’ concern about their kids’ driving behavior.
