Come to Mid-America Science Museum – the thriving science center
There remain some organizations in every age who become widely acclaimed for their unusual approaches and noble activities. What’s more a bizarre resolve or firmness of purpose is perceived in their actions which make them more glorious. The Mid-America Science Museum happens to be one of them and has been going on with its aim to stimulate interest in science, to promote public understanding of the sciences, and to encourage life-long science education through interactive exhibits and programs. The organization celebrated its 30th anniversary recently and sharpened its ideals once again.
The Museum, in this regard, promoted newly launched hands-on exhibits that are destined to stimulate interest in engineering and physics. Besides the Hot Springs museum inaugurated a new 5,000-square-foot exhibit that urges visitors to discover various aspects of engineering by means of designing and testing boats, bridges, windmills and paper airplanes. The theme “Engineer It!”, hence, enables the visitors to carry out trial with their designs by testing them in wind tunnels, earthquake simulators and water tanks.
Speaking on this Executive Director of the Museum Andy Marquart told, “It’s been really amazing to watch the students and the families come in and play with this exhibit because they get so into what they’re doing.” “They want to try to do the best they can and experiment and you just can sense that they’re learning while they’re doing it.” The Director along with the staff of the Museum is jubilant and there is a good reason behind this. The Museum, after facing a decline or downward slope fore decades, is slowly attracting more visitors and this is growing steadily.
Now, even if you are not interested, you can also visit here since the Museum serves as a foremost tourism attraction in Arkansas, the state in south central United States. Nevertheless, if you are interested, you must make a visit between March 11-12. You will be able to hear William Terbo, the closest living relative of the famous inventor and electrical engineer Nikola Tesla, and is currently the Executive Secretary of the Tesla Memorial Society Inc, speak.
