Health care services will surpass in excellence in Tennessee
This is indeed a good sign especially when the entire nation has become subject to a plummeting economy thanks to the sordid effects of the ongoing downturn. It has been learnt from the recent annunciation of US President Barack Obama that Tennessee, the well-known state in east central United States, will get $2.8 million from American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds to ramp up health centers. In accordance with a news release from a government, the Tennessee funds are part of a $155 million grant to build 126 new health centers across United States of America.
What is the main objective of this epoch-making decision? As indicated by the governmental sources, these centers are most suitable for the people in need and will help them a lot along with those without health insurance to gain access to health care services. Now there is a question. Is this the real story? If we have to accept this story, we ought to conclude that the US health care services is deprived of the necessary money, not helping downtrodden people and is on the verge of collapse. But it is not! Then? There is also another purpose and it is regarding the generation of employment.
Well, the US President has taken the responsibility to clear any such confusion and stated that the construction and expansion of these health centers would create 5,500 jobs and help about 750,000 people gain health care access. But there are some shortcomings as well. The statement fails to provide any details hitherto regarding the location of the Tennessee centers. Nevertheless, it is clear that the funds would provide health care access to 10,740 Tennesseans and employ 80 people.
Which are the other states to receive share of the same fund? While one of them is Mississippi, the other one is Arkansas. Mississippi will get $1.3 million for health centers that will employ 70 and give aid to 9,340 and Arkansas’ will receive $3.3 million and its centers will serve 12,280 patients and employ 90.
