New Tech model schools to get a further boost

Whatever may be the spate of downturn in both global and US economy, it is always great to nurture a new fund. Don’t you think so? If you think so, you can get the essence of a new fund then only. Well you are not alone in this respect. The organization behind new science-and-technology-driven high schools in five Indiana cities is also having the same merriment. The only reason is that it has got a $10 million grant to get faster the rollout of more.

What is the main objective of this grant? This four-year grant has been given to the New Technology Foundation to expand the educational structure to the furthest possible degree consisting of a number of schools. In addition, it will make bigger a web portal which supplies schools with access to projects assigned at other New Tech schools across the country.

It is to be noted that the main job of New Tech is to work with schools to build assignments around real-world projects covering a range of classroom subjects. What’s more, a project to organize a forum on world hunger might call on social studies, English and science skills. Are the plans of New Tech unique? It’s quite difficult to ascertain this but it seems that the New Tech considers them to be exclusive and these designs, according to its discretion, hold students’ interest, and prepares them better for future life.

The education nonprofit KnowledgeWorks announced the grant at a statehouse news conference. KnowledgeWorks is based in Ohio, while New Tech is headquartered in California. What is the reason behind the selection of Indiana for the announcement? Well, as indicated by the organizations, the state has been a leader in adopting the New Tech model and this happens to be the greatest credibility.

The premier schools that impart New Tech model include IPS’s Tech High School, Decatur Township Schools along with high schools in Bloomington, Columbus, Rochester and Elnora.
