It has come to the knowledge that Sweet Briar College, the well-known liberal arts women’s college in Sweet Briar, Virginia, about 12 miles (19 km) north of Lynchburg, Virginia is going to organize a lecture at 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 6 in Guion Room 202. Well, to be precise, it is the math sciences department of the College that is going to host the lecture by Brett Tyler of the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute at Virginia Tech.

The habit of tobacco smoking is as old as the human civilization. From time immemorial human beings have remained acquainted with the various uses of tobacco and smoking is one of them. But the ultra consciousness of its pernicious effects all over the globe is a recent phenomenon and a huge number of people are still found to remain addicted to it. It’s true that the habit must be stopped since smoking tobacco is known to cause cancer in humans but not all people who smoke necessarily develop smoking-related cancer.

It is quite difficult to ascertain the essence of welfare state and different schools of thoughts bring forth an assortment of definitions. Whatever it is, the objective of this concept is clear and it is to develop the (economically and socially) susceptible sections of the society. Is this notion static? Can’t this theory be implemented by any other state or entity? Well, it can be and the United States of America is doing the same, though this greatest votary of capitalist economy may prefer to disagree.
