It has come to the knowledge that Alek Duerksen of Waynesboro has been named by Virginia Tech as the outstanding graduating senior in the College of Engineering for the 2009-10 academic year. It is to be noted that Duerksen is likely to receive his bachelor’s degree in mining and minerals engineering from the College of Engineering in the upcoming month of July.
