A number of internationally acclaimed academics have been included in the newly formed science and technology advisory council of US President Obama and along with them Google CEO Eric Schmidt and Microsoft’s chief research and strategy officer, Craig Mundie have also been incorporated. It must be stated that the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) is an advisory group intended to help the president and vice president develop tech-related policies. The PCAST was founded by the then President George H.W. Bush in 1990.
