Michigan Technological University is going to have nine new degree programs – the majority of which are in computer engineering and business- henceforth, thanks to the approval of the University Board of Control at its regular meeting in Houghton. The board’s action consisted of final approval for a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, which were approved in the beginning at the Board’s March meeting and sent to the State Academic Affairs Office for review and endorsement. It should be kept in mind that computer engineering is basically an amalgamation of computer science and electrical engineering.
