India’s Unique Identification project is having ever more attentions with the passing of each day. It has been learnt that both Yahoo and Microsoft, premier American corporations in the global arena, are in the race to power the technology. Unique Identification project is under the aegis of Indian tech czar Nandan Nilekani and has the sole aim to assign every Indian citizen with a unique identification number that will recognize him or her; the concept is akin to a U.S. social security number.
