Any exercise during pregnancy betters both baby and mother

Is there any who is yet to know of pregnancy in the animal world, especially human beings? Perhaps not! We all are aware that it happens to be the carrying of one or more offspring, known as a fetus or embryo, inside the uterus of a female and it is also known that human pregnancy is the most studied of all mammalian pregnancies. Obstetrics is the surgical field that studies and cares for high risk pregnancy.

However, in spite of the awareness of the basics, some issues do torment us from time to time. While one of them is the issue of safety during pregnancy, other one is how to retain fitness. This subject matter is not trivial in any way since the majority of people do consider any physical activity during this period is dicey. Are you also in the same group? If you are, a recently concluded study may cheer you up.

The study was conduced under the auspices of Polytechnic University of Madrid and as per its findings, exercising up to the end of pregnancy has no damaging effect on the weight or size of the foetus.

Commenting on the entire development, Jonatan R. Ruiz, researcher at the Karolinska Institute, Sweden, and principal author of this study, who has coordinated a team from the Polytechnic University of Madrid in collaboration with the Swedish centre stated that any exercise regime carried out during the second and third trimester of pregnancy does not damage the health of the foetus.

In contrast to the existing thoughts, any form of physical exercise, when a physically-active lifestyle is maintained throughout pregnancy, betters both the health of the baby and the mother. In the very study, 160 healthy women between the ages of 25 and 35, all of whom had sedentary habits and no risk of premature birth, did take part.
