On Monday, 16, at about 1:30 p.m., the lower level food court of Macy's State Street store in the Loop, Chicago, was shut down. This was as a result of various health violations of the City Health Code.

A new report published in the New England Journal of Medicine revealed that pregnant women who take a special type of antidepressants called Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) are in no danger of passing birth defects to their newborns.

WASHINGTON - The US Food and Drug Administration staff has expressed concern over an increase in suicidal behavior in volunteers who tool Sanofi Aventis' weight loss drug, rimonabant. The drug is under review and FDA panel is due to meet today to decide whether to recommend the drug for approval.

NEW YORK - Medivation revealed on Monday that a clinical trial of its experimental drug was able to ward off deterioration of symptoms in Alzheimer's patients. According to the company, the drug called as Dimebon was able to preserve function in patients in a Phase 2 study for almost one year.

Researchers at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago say in a new study that people who are constantly under stress or are regularly experiencing bouts of depression are at an increased risk of developing memory problems. The details of the study appear in the journal Neurology, the journal of the American Academy of Neurology.
