Nintendo to debut a camera for its gaming device DS
NEW YORK: Japanese game maker Nintendo is launching a camera to go with its highly successful handheld gaming device Nintendo DS.
The camera will add to the suave console's two screens, a touchscreen and a microphone.
The camera fits into the Game Boy Advance, or GBA, port on the bottom of the device. It can be mounted on a tripod stand, which will hold the gaming device sideways.
Nintendo also introduced the first game designed specifically for the new camera, called Adult Face Training, which teaches the gamers on how to exercise facial muscles. Game reviewers said the game allows players to use their face to play the game. This will in turn make the gamers' faces look younger as a result of the exercises.
The camera and the game will be in the market in Japan on 2 August. The company has not announced a date for the North American launch. The camera and the game are said to be priced at around $40.
