Joss Stone's late arrival upsets fans
LONDON - It is good practice to arrive late at awards functions, but teen singer Joss Stone went a step further by arriving late at her own gig! The 19-year-old star arrived two hours late at the Koko Club in London and compounded the misery of waiting fans by failing to apologize.
The Devon resident had to endure boos from the assembled audience when she began her show. However the crowd calmed down later on.
Her spokesman revealed that a DJ had kept the crowd entertained before Stone arrived. "It's pretty bog standard with a gig for the doors to open at 7pm and the main act to come on at 9pm," he clarified. "She was 40 minutes late on stage and I don't know the reason for that, although she does get very nervous before she performs so that might have had something to do with it."
Meanwhile The Sun reports that Stone's family was in a scuffle backstage. It appears that her father Richard was trying to restrain brother Harry, who was apparently drunk, “Harry was steaming drunk and Richard was trying to get him out of the venue and into a car," a source told the newspaper. “Harry wasn't happy about it and they had a scuffle and ended up falling down some stairs.”
Eventually they were escorted out from a side door, the paper added.
