New Tolkien Book All Set to Take the Readers Back to the Middle-Earth

Christopher Tolkien, son of the legendary J.R.R. Tolkien, recently finished work on and released the book called The Son of the Hurin. This masterpiece comes more than three decades after the last book from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit writer.

Apparently J.R.R. Tolkien's imaginary world of the middle earth had another magnificent story in it. The Son of the Hurin has as its protagonists Turin and Nienor, both offsprings of Hurin, who are cursed by the first-ever Dark Lord, Morgoth. This story is set in a time frame much before that of The Lord of the Rings.

It is not another Harry Potter according to David Brawn, Director at Tolkien publisher HarperCollins, a division of News Corp. This new book is darker than both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings but nonetheless equally enjoyable. Tolkien researchers and fans will find parts of the new novel familiar as material from the manuscripts of this work was used in The Silmarillion.

Further, in an interview Christopher Tolkien said that he has just pieced together parts of his father's unfinished manuscripts and barely added anything on his own. His creative inputs were limited to a few sentences here and there that were necessary to maintain the smooth flow of the story.

Adam Tolkien, Tolkien's grandson, assisted with the editing of the book and believes that this new book will bring back into the spotlight the true genius behind The Lord of the Rings trilogy — J. R.R. Tolkien.

Illustrated by Oscar-winner Alan Lee, who also worked on The Lord of the Rings movie series, The Son of the Hurin is now available in English across the world, and HarperCollins plans to have it translated in 25 languages.
