Paris Hilton says will give up dumb act
Hotel heiress Paris Hilton who is currently serving a 45-day jail sentence at a Lynnwood facility has pledged to give up her dumb act. Speaking to Barbara Walters on Sunday, Hilton said she was used to putting on a dumb act, but that was not who she was.
Walters repeated the conversation on her ABC television show The View. "I know now that I can make a difference, that I have the power to do that. I have been thinking that I want to do different things when I am out of here. I have become much more spiritual. God has given me this new chance," Hilton told Walters in her phone call from the medical wing of the jail.
Paris is in jail for violating probation in a case where she is accused of driving under the influence. She was initially sentenced to 45 days, but that was later reduced to 23 days. However she was released just 3 days after spending time in the jail prompting legal investigation, which eventually led to her being ordered back to jail.
Walters said Hilton refuted reports that she was wailing and screaming during the first three days of her imprisonment. "I was not eating or sleeping. I was severely depressed and felt as if I was in a cage. I was not myself. It was a horrible experience," Hilton said.
She also told Walters that she would be released on June 25 after serving 23 days in prison. "My spirit or soul did not like the way I was being seen and that is why I was sent to jail. God has released me," she told Walters.
