Chicken Little is highly disappointing

A young cluck named Chicken Little (voice of Zach Braff) creates panic in the town of Oakey Oaks as he warns neighbors that the sky is falling. This leads to utter chaos but it is soon realized that this isn't true (which actually is) and that all the havoc caused was for nothing. A young cluck named Chicken Little (voice of Zach Braff) creates panic in the town of Oakey Oaks as he warns neighbors that the sky is falling. This leads to utter chaos but it is soon realized that this isn't true (which actually is) and that all the havoc caused was for nothing. An ashamed father (Garry Marshall) makes an endeavor to restore the situation by giving some excuses. But Chicken Little is termed as a pariah and now he has to spend his life as a public outcast.

Chicken Little wants to regain his father's reverence by becoming a baseball great. This element of the movie is terribly slow and boring, yet the filmmakers have overrated it stretching it for longer than required.

Post the baseball craze, Chicken Little comes back track slightly. The sky starts falling and Chicken Little together with his pals Ugly Duckling (Joan Cusack), Runt of the Litter (Steve Zahn), and a side-splitting character with a funny name itself-Fish out of Water explore this mystery as the film draws to a chaotic close.

More Info
Technically, the visual aspect of the movie isn't that bad and even quite a few of the jokes are reasonably funny. Even so, its no where near as good as an animation movie ought to be. This renovation of an old tale does has some nice 70's and 80's melody incorporated.

While most of the other characters have been weakly sketched, Chicken Little manages to hold his own as a highly impressive as well a pleasing character. Among the rest, there is his disappointed father, some loser friends and a number of useless and unwanted characters.

Even as the script goes awry, the movie manages to keep producing laughter bites reminiscent of “Robots" and "Madagascar".

A couple of songs featuring Joss Stone and Barenaked Ladies may be unbearable for the kids but might just prevent the adults from catching forty winks. By the way, the R.E.M. and Gloria Gaynor songs in the closing moments do seem very much relevant.

The older generation can feel nostalgic as Don Knotts lends voice to one of the characters in the movie.

Although not a bad movie by any means, Disney maiden venture into in-house computer animated films, Chicken Little fails to deliver the goods.

"Chicken Little" is being screened in the new Digital 3-D technology at the Loews Metreon in San Francisco and the Century 20 Oakridge in San Jose among others.
