Jessica Simpson to star with Dane Cook in 'Employee of the Month'?

LOS ANGELES - Gorgeous pop star Jessica Simpson, who made her movie debut with the summer flick, The Dukes of Hazzard is in talks for a role in a new comedy starring the versatile sensation Dane Cook.

The Hollywood Reporter says that if the talks are successful, Simpson could play the role of a cashier in the movie Employee of the Month. Simpson would portray as a bombshell of a cashier at a discount superstore who creates flutters wherever she goes. Two of the employees in the store, young Adams fall head over heels for her.

These two try to grab her attention by competing for the "Employee of the Month" award. One of these guys is Dane Cook, who has become referred to as a "stand-up comedian." Jessica Simpson began her career with contemporary Christian music and soon moved on to major songs like "I Wanna Love You Forever," "I Think I'm In Love," and "Where You Are" with the 1999 album Sweet Kisses.

It is also reported that Gregory Coolidge will direct this comedy in his own script. The film is slated to be a Lions Gate production. Coolidge already has laugh riots like the 2002 flick Sorority Boys and the cop comedy Ride Along to his credit.

The latter is yet to be released and has The Rock and Ryan Reynolds staring in it. Coolidge also wrote and directed the indie movie Queen for a Day. The studio is looking to start off in spring and has allotted dates for the same, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
