Will wants to take the Bollywood way
MUMBAI, India - Top Hollywood actor Will Smith said that he was enchanted by Aishwarya Rai and Bollywood -in that order- and added that he was mesmerized with the "beauty, colour and depth of Indian cinema".
Smith was in India for the launch of Sony's entertainment television's new Hollywood channel called Pix. "Just recently I got to know the number of films Bollywood makes a year - a whopping 800. And each with its share of song, music, dance and drama," Smith told Hindustan Times. "I am simply enticed to be part of it."
Smith also confessed to being enchanted with Aishwarya Rai, "I really wanted to work with her in Hitch but she was shooting for Bride and Prejudice at the time and she couldn't do it," he said. "She has this powerful energy where she doesn't have to say anything, do anything, she can just stand there. Anything she's making, I'll be there." Smith will also be recording an episode of Indian Idol, the desi version of the American Idol on Friday.
"I am meeting with these people to make artistic connections and come up with a new thing," he said. He confessed to being "blown away" by Amitabh Bachchan's performance in "Sarkar." Smith was so impressed by the Big B that he now wants to be known as the Big W.
"I was very impressed with his acting and have decided that from today onwards, I will be known as Big W," he said. He also felt that he could connect with Shahjahan, the Mughal emperor who built the Taj Mahal, "In my home in Los Angeles, I've built a lake and called it 'Her Lake' as a token of my love for my wife. I totally understand that feeling of building a monument to show your love for your woman," he said.
