George Michael may be ditched by record label

LONDON - George Michael may be on the verge of being ditched by his record label Sony/BMG after another of his drug escapades, according to a report in thisislondon.com.

Michael was arrested over the weekend when he was found slumped at the wheel of his car at traffic lights. He was arrested and released on bail. The 43-year-old singer was also given a strict warning for possession of cannabis. Michael was taken to the Royal Free Hospital, and was later cautioned by the police.

But he issued a statement saying that he did not have drugs in his body, "This is the second time in a year I have been caught with an unused spliff in my car. I had no drink or drugs on my body. I haven't got a problem with drugs," he said in a statement.

In February, Michael was found slumped at the wheel at London's Hyde Park Corner. Thisislondon.com quoted unnamed Sony/BMG executives as saying that George Michael's behavior was now unpredictable.

That is twice now he has been found slumped unconscious behind the wheel. He has also been photographed coming out of the woods with a grey-haired stranger in the middle of the night after some dodgy sexual encounter," the source said. "It is now at a point where we are going to have to warn him that he must start carrying on more responsibly or else we will have to seriously consider his future with us."
