Four Dutch men arrested over HIV gang rape
AMSTERDAM - Four gay men have been arrested over a weird case involving gang rapes in order to spread HIV infection in the Netherlands. Police confirmed that two of the men were arrested in Groningen because they were supposedly infection other people intentionally.
Three men were arrested Sunday in what has turned into a bizarre case. The men allegedly lured the others over the internet, drugged them and then intentionally injected the HIV virus into them after having sex parties.
“The suspicion is that at these parties, they had unsafe sex with people they had drugged, and also that these people were injected with infected blood,” district police chief Ronald Zwarter revealed. "Their stated motive was that it excited them - and also that, the more HIV-infected people there were, the better their chances of unprotected sex."
He added that two of the men aged 48 and 33 had confessed to their crimes. Apparently the gang is facing up to 16 years in prison.
The men invited other men to parties, drugged them with ecstasy pills and GHB and reportedly proceeded to have unsafe sex with them. The suspects are to be held for at least three months before a trial is ordered against them.
