Bodies of NH kids killed by their father found
HUDSON, Ohio - Two bodies that were found off the Interstate 80 have been identified as those of 14-year-old Sarah Gehring and her brother Philip. Authorities announced that these bodies were the same as those of the New Hampshire brother and sister duo who were killed by their father a couple of years ago.

Summit County Medical Examiner Lisa Kohler revealed that the identification had been made after cross checking with the kids' dental records. Ms Kohler added that the siblings died of multiple gunshot wounds. The children were shot by their father Manuel Gehring, an unemployed accountant who admitted that he had killed his children after taking them to watch a July Fourth show at Concord, N.H. Gehring said that after he killed the children he drove aimlessly before burying them with duct tape crosses on their chests.

He was arrested within a week, but killed himself before going on trial. New Hampshire Assistant Attorney General Jeffery Strelzin said that Sarah had been three gunshot wounds in her head, while Philip had been shot four times in each arm well as in the head and the neck.

Gehring was apparently involved in a custody battle for the kids with his former wife, who had subsequently remarried. After killing the children in 2003, Gehring confessed to the authorities that he was unable to locate the area where he had buried the children.

The children's mother Teri Knight was emotional when the bodies were eventually confirmed to be of her kids, "It's just been this unbelievable burden not having them found, and so that does feel like somewhat of a relief. It's tough, but it's better than not knowing where they are." Gehring had provided vague information about the location of the graves, but they were eventually uncovered by a dog , which was walking with its owner on Thursday between Cleveland and Akron.
